About The Senior Source
Since 1961, The Senior Source’s mission has been to enhance the quality of life for older adults in greater Dallas. As a nonprofit agency, they serve as the go-to resource for everything older adults may need, including financial guidance, advice on long-term care facilities, or ways to connect with others through volunteerism.
SOL at The Senior Source
We combined the manual control principles and smartphone format from our child education program with a curriculum centered around weekly photo history lessons to form an engaging yet accessible program for older adults. Photography provides older adults with both a diverse community and an accessible mental and creative outlet. As one student put it: This class unlocked the magic of the ordinary phone that's always with me. I'll be using the skills that I gained for years ahead.
